Anne Jemmett

Born 11 July 1856, John joined the Royal Marines and saw
active service in Egypt in 1882. He was awarded the Egyptian medal
and the Khedive's Star. He died at the age of 73 and is buried in
Cookham cemetery.

Horace was born in Cookham, Berkshire in 1892, the only son
of James and Martha Jemmett. He came to New Zealand with his parents
about 1908/09. He served in the first World War in the 16th Waikato
Company and died of wounds while in action in 1915

James Jemmett was born in Turville, Buckinghamshire, England on 5 November
1815. According to the 1851 Census for Cookham James was bricklayer, labourer
and on the 1881 Census he was employed as a highway gatekeeper. He was
also a bell-ringer at the Cookham Church. (click
