notes from Kaye in Australia:
Martha Avery (born 1837 Hillingdon). Martha Avery married Alfred Rumble, brickmaker, (born 1837 Hillingdon), in 1858. They married in Burnham, Bucks and had two daughters.
Martha Avery Rumble was widowed in 1863 and married William Higgs (born 1840 Yiewsley) in 1866. The 1871 census places the Higgs' home in Starveall and in 1881 in the Pocock Cottages, Starveall. William Higgs was a brick labourer as was his father, William.
The daughter of Alfred and Martha Avery Rumble, also Martha Rumble (born 1860 Hillingdon) married Alfred John Batt (born 1858 Erchfont, Wilts) in 1883.
The daughter of Martha Rumble Batt and Alfred Batt is my grandmother, Helen Edith Ruby Batt (born London 1896), who married John Henry Woolmer (born Bulls Cross Middlesex 1893) in 1917. They emigrated to Western Australia in 1924 to take up an agricultural block in the Group Settlement Scheme.
The daughter of John Henry and Helen Batt Woolmer, Audrey Joan Woolmer (born London 1921) married Arthur Dan Patrick Fowler (born Norton Malreward, Somerset 1913) in 1941. The Fowlers emigrated to Western Australia in 1925 and subsequently took up a block in the Group Settlement Scheme.
I have John Avery's name from the marriage certificate of Martha Avery and Alfred Rumble dated August 1st, 1858. I have no other information about him.
