from Christine: My research suggests that Thomas (1776-1849) was the second of six children born to a Thomas Ashbee (1748) and his wife Ann Hore (married in 1774 in West Wycombe). By turn, Thomas was the second of six children born to another Thomas Ashbee who married Elizabeth Beckley in Beaconsfield in 1747.
Thomas (1776-1849) is, so far, the only child not to be baptised to this couple at West Wycombe and I will check if he was baptised in Saunderton or Penn or one of the other neighbouring parishes. It is sometimes the case that a second child is baptised in a parish related to the mother...

Elizabeth Ashby Wife of Thomas a farm Labour, died 12th April 1867 at Henton Hill Chinnor aged 80 Years informant was Jane Southam Cause of death decay of nature. She was buried 16th April 1867 in the church yard at Radnage by the Rev John Hillmer.
Note: the file below suggests that Thomas and Elizabeth married in Castlethorpe, near Milton Keynes, in 1816, and that she was Elizabeth Darby.
However, a file on ancestry.com World Tree shows this same Thomas Ashby and Elizabeth Darby as staying in Castlethorpe. First child Betsy, 1817, plus three more born in Stony Stratford up to1824. Plus a burial record for Thomas in Stony Stratford.
Clearly there were two different couples called Thomas and Elizabeth Ashby, one in Castlethorpe, the other in West Wycombe.
THOMAS ASHBY was born 1792 (IGI has this one baptised 1791 in Castlethorpe). He married ELIZABETH DARBY October 18, 1816 in Castlethorpe (near Milton Keynes), Bucks.
