from Frances:

Yiewsley June 1
1851

Dear Henry

I write to inform you that we are very uneasy about John and we have not
heard from him since last May if you will be kind enough to write and let
us know how you are all getting on I shall be very much obliged to you. I
wrote to my brother Jasmes two years ago and have not received any answer to
let us know if he was dead or alive. I was at home in the country about a
month ago and they were telling me they was going to sell the windmill,
likewise the house and land and your children take one share but William the
soldier they cannot find at present therefore you had better let me know how
many children you have and likewise their names.

I do not know if they ever write to you from the County or not witch they
should do. Brickmaking is very brisk here but the price as low as 3/4d. for
and Provisions of all sorts are very cheap here good bread 6d per loaf
beef and mutton 6d and all other articleas in proportion. Your brothers are
all quite well likewise Father and Aunt and send their kind love to all.
Mr & Mrs Read send their love likewise me and my wife and children. Love to
you all and wishing you all Happy new Year

This the sincere wish of your affectionate Brother

John Avery
Yiewsley near Uxbridge
Middx.

----

Sandra Davis sent me the letter. She is the Sandra Green descended from
Henry who married Mary Avery. Mary seems to disappear as there is no death
for her recorded although she does seem to go out to America with baby Jane
Avery. We all wish we had the answer to the letter.

So John is writing to brother Henry, is worried about John - most probably
his son John who also went to America. Is William the soldier the brother
born 1799 To Thomas and Sarah? There is also a brother James somewhere.
