Margaret: "Oxford Marriage index - found John Coles married Nelly
Hodges 7th Sept 1795 at Brightwell Baldwin. Very clear on the index but
then went back to Brightwell Baldwin parish register fiche and it is not
so clear. You can see it is Nelly but you would not know it was Hodges,
however the witnesses were Eliz Hodges & Hanna (WHART ?) again not
very clear, but it is all there."

her 24 when she married James, and that would make more sense. Also bapt
of William Coles 31/7/1796 s/o John & Nelly born 20/7/1796."
