WALTER CHARLES EDWARD DAVIS was born 1871 in Bristol, and died 01/9/1938 in Bristol, Gloucestershire. He married SELINA HAYWARD 18/9/1892 in St Matthews Church, Moorfields, Bristol. She was born 04/4/1871 in 3 Brixton St, Upper Easton, St George, Bristol, Gloucestershire, and died 1951 in Bristol.

    Notes for SELINA: From the age of 26 she was ill in bed with chest problems. Only had one lung due to illness, she is said to have coughed the other one up. Deaf in one ear. She married wearing a penny wig due to going bald through illness. She used to rub lamp oil and olive oil into her scalp and her hair grew back very curly and long. Because of her illness she never attended any of her childrens wedding. Lived: 107 Bloy St, Easton, Bristol 1901. Had 14 children including 3 still births, Others died very young. Occ: Worked in Cotton Factory in Netham when young.
    Notes for JOHN: He Joined Army when 16/17 but had to lie about his age to get in. Later he became a labourer. Lived: 7 Middle Terrace, Bristol 1901. When he first married they lived with his in-laws in Proctor St, Moorfields, Bristol. As soon as they could they got a house in Easton Road, (overlooking the railway arch) Bristol. The family were forced to move from Easton as the house was due to be demolished long with one other and a shop. This did not happen and the properties still stands today. (2004) They moved on to 21 Morse Rd, Redfield, Bristol. Cause of death: Stroke.

    Notes: Lost his eye when he was a baby, due to measles. Lived: 107 Bloy St, Easton, Bristol 1901. Never married.

  5. FRANK DAVIS was born 03/12/1902 in 3 Moorfields Square, St George, Bristol, and died 1966 in Bristol. He married ELIZABETH PAISEY 30/7/1932 in Parish Church of St Matthew, Moorfields, Bristol. She was born 1906.
    Notes for FRANK: Lived: 17 Proctor St, Moorfields, Bristol when he married but moved to Dove Lane, Bristol later. The match factory where he worked was opposite his house in Dove Lane. He was able to bring home a large supply of sparklers leading up to bonfire night that he handed out to the children in the Davis/Thompson family. Occ: Served in the Royal Air Force during the 2nd world war and also became a member of the Air Raid Precautions (later known as the Civil Defence). After the war he worked in the Match Factory which was in Dove Lane, Redfield. When he married he was match dipper there but went on to be a foreman.

She now spends her time in Vetchlea Nursing Home, Avonvale Rd, Redfield, Bristol where she has Alzheimer's. [added later: Lily died Jan 2009 at Vetchlea Nursing Home. Avonvale Rd, Redfield, Bristol. She was cremated at South Bristol Crematorium, Bristol on the 28th January.]
    Notes for JOHN: AKA: Jack. Occ: Painter of Steam Rollers in same company as nephew John Thompson. Cause of Death: Hit on head during accident at work. Collapsed in front of nephew.
