some fungi on the canal towpath
towards Aston locks, August 2001
My rather basic picture book of fungi isn't very helpful with these,
the captions are reasonable guesses but I'm not planning to eat any to find
out!

could all be Cortinarius pseudosalor (no common name - edible)

possibly Fly Agaric (poisonous)

there is one called the Poached Egg Fungus (edible but not recommended)
- which this ought to be but the picture in the book doesn't look much like
this...

possibly all Ceps (edible)

nothing like this in the book...

could be Field Mushrooms (edible) - or they could be Death Cap (extremely
poisonous, usually fatal....)
- mushrooms for tea anyone?
