A walk along part of Offa's
Dyke from Llanymynech, August 2001
the
England/Wales border runs through the middle of the village

The start, the Montogomery Canal on the Welsh side of Llanymynech, with swan.
The towpath at this point is Offa's Dyke path.

on the way up.... Llanymynech is at the bottom in the left picture

... but still more above....

a Harebell . . . . and wild Marjoram

Gatekeeper butterfly ... and Llanymynech golf course at the top

Painted Lady butterfly

Peacock butterfly . . . . and a Speckled Wood butterfly

down through the woods, this is the circular route back to Llanymynech having
just left the Offa's Dyke path (that's the golf course again at the bottom)

a big green dragonfly

the Shropshire Plain from No.1 tee on the golf course . . .

a nice place for a view across Shropshire (left) and Wales (right)

.. back in Llanymynech. A Red Admiral butterfly on the English side of the
canal bridge - and a moorhen on the Welsh side.
